988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in the News

This summer with help from many of you, we have informed the people of Berrien County of the new 3-digit suicide and crisis lifeline. Our efforts have recently been highlighted in television and newspaper reports which also helped us spread the message about 988. Here are links for you to view these reports.

September is National Suicide Awareness Month, and we need to continue to spread the message about 988. If you would like to download and print a poster, visit our Promote 988 webpage. We also need your help in asking schools, businesses and churches to put the message on their electronic signs. Here is a suggested message. (“988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline – Call. Text. Chat.”)

If you have any questions or suggestions, send an email to berriencaresmi@gmail.com.
