  • 1 min read

Transforming Youth Suicide Prevention in Michigan is hosting a virtual Suicide Prevention 201 (SP201): Advancing Suicide Prevention & Management for Diverse Clients training. SP201 is a diversity and culturally infused workshop for clinicians, crisis response providers, school counselors and other providers. This version will be specifically for youth providers. It teaches core suicide prevention and management from beginning to end (screening, comprehensive assessment, crisis response and safety planning, intervention and recovery). Evidence-based cultural considerations (i.e., the Cultural Theory and Model of Suicide) are interwoven throughout the course, so that participants learn how to detect cultural expressions of suicide and incorporate key evidenced-based cultural considerations throughout their suicide management activities.

This training will be held virtually on September 9 and 16 from 12-3:30 p.m. Both sessions are required for attendance. The cost is $25/person and there are social work continuing education credits available.

More information about the training can be found here: https://communityconnections.net/training/sp201/

Registration closes on August 31 and the workshop is limited to 40 attendees. More training details can also be found in the flyer using the link below
